Jurassic Encounter move to Rotterdam/Schiedam in July. Jurassic Encounter is a must-see family event, an interactive installation of 50 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs from the Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous periods. Each dinosaur has robotic movements which include arms moving up and down, tails swaying side-to-side, heads moving up and down, eyes blinking, jaws opening wide with realistic roaring sound effects. Making for a truly awesome walk-through experience! This mesmerising experience is as educational as it is entertaining and the perfect day out for children and adults. Visitors will walk a perilous path through grasslands and woodlands and come face-to-face with snarling, roaring and hissing dinosaurs amongst the trees, bushes and woods.

The Event

Step back in time to an era when dinosaurs roamed the earth. As you explore the park, beware the dinosaurs at every twist and turn along the route. They will be hiding in the bushes, grazing in the tree tops and towering above your heads…..

Jurassic Encounter promises to offer visitors a truly unique and amazing family day out and encounter dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes from the Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous periods as they stare down at you from a great height.

Choose your city, date and entry time and book online early to avoid missing out. Please arrive during your hourly entry slot and once inside, you can stay and enjoy the event for as long as you like.

The added roaring, snarling and hissing sound effects and robotic moving body parts make this a terrifying, but more realistic and enjoyable experience for the whole family.

Amazing Family Day Out

Jurassic Encounter is a fun day out for families to get up close and personal with the undisputed king of the Jurassic Era, the ferocious T. rex, walk in the shadows of the long-necked giants Diplodocus and Brontosaurus and come face-to-face with snarling caged raptors!

Grab a bite to eat, or purchase a souvenir to create a fantastic day out.

Food and Drink

Mouthwatering street food and drink will be on offer at all tour locations, including traditional Spanish churros, steak sandwiches, burgers, crepes & waffles, noodles and other pop-up food offers. There will be something for everyone to tuck into!

Please Note:

  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
  • Ticket dates cannot be changed. Please respect this policy. Refunds will only be allowed if we are closed for any purpose.
  • Children aged 2 and under are free and do not need a ticket. There are no cloakroom facilities at the venue, so visitors will not be able to store bags, buggies or bikes etc.
  • Children’s bikes, scooters and skates are not permitted inside the event. Only guide dogs are allowed, no other pets are permitted onsite.

Parking & Public Transport:

  • Jurassic Encounter in Schiedam is a 'NO PARKING' event. We would like this event to be as environmentally friendly as possible and would urge all our visitors to use public transport. 
  • Prinses Beatrixpark can be reached by local bus, train and tram routes which are only 10-minutes' walk from the park entrances and easily accessible.
